Tri-Foil Clamps is essential for Single core cable
Tri-Foil Clamps are used for high voltage single core cables where the current rating is high and 3 core cables are not available. The Tri-Foil Clamp are used for laying single core cables in Trefoil touching formation which helps to maintain magnetic symmetry thereby avoiding electro magnetic heating and loss of current. It does nullify the induced magnetic field of high voltage power cable.
The Tri-Foil Clamp are Protection of power and control cable from the lightning discharges and Establishment of easy cable circulation paths.
Voltages are induced in the sheath of cables running in parallel which result in circulating currents flowing in the sheaths. The distances between single core cables running in parallel determine the voltages induced. With single core cables in trefoil formation (touching each other) the distances between the cables are minimum and thus the voltages induced are minimized and hence the circulating currents. The circulating currents cause localized heating.
APPLICATION
Tri-Foil Clamps are suitable for supporting Single Core PVC/ HRPVC, XLPE, XLPE Insulated Aluminum, Un- Armoured, Earth And Un Earth Power Cables from 1.1 Kv to 132 KV Grade. 3 Phase A.C. Circuits in trefoil formation in Generation Stations, Sub-Stations, Thermal Power Stations, Switchgear Plants etc. These can be used for indoor or outdoor for vertical or horizontal running cables inside trenches or on racks / galleries.

Versatile Mounting SolutionsThe Cleats Trifoil Clamp adapts easily to various installation scenarios, supporting base, U bolt, or rail mounting. This versatility ensures secure placement on different surfaces in multiple environmentsbe it industrial plants, marine sites, or outdoor electrical setups.
Superior Material Strength & ProtectionBuilt with high strength aluminium alloy, stainless steel, or mild steel, and lined with EPDM rubber, the clamp resists corrosion and damage from weather and UV exposure. Its insulation property further protects cables from induction and vibration, preserving cable integrity over time.
Compliance & ReliabilityRigorous adherence to IEC 61914 and IS 5567 standards means the Cleats Trifoil Clamp delivers dependable performance for LV, MV, and HV electric installations. With tensile strength 30 kN, and a temperature range from 30C to +110C, it works reliably in demanding conditions.
FAQs of Cleats Trifoil Clamp:
Q: How is the Cleats Trifoil Clamp installed for securing electric cables?
A: Installation is flexible, with options including base, U bolt, or rail mounting. Select the most suitable method based on site requirements, then secure the clamp around the cable using the stainless steel bolts and nuts provided.
Q: What cable sizes can be accommodated by this clamp?
A: This clamp supports trifoil cables with a range from 35 mm up to 400 mm, making it ideal for low, medium, and high voltage electrical installations.
Q: When should I use a Cleats Trifoil Clamp with EPDM rubber lining?
A: Use this clamp whenever cable insulation, induction prevention, and protection from vibration are essential, especially in outdoor or marine installations that demand UV and weather resistance.
Q: Where is the Cleats Trifoil Clamp most effectively utilized?
A: The clamp is effective in industrial, marine, and outdoor electrical installations, where environmental conditions require excellent corrosion resistance and mechanical security for trifoil cables.
Q: What benefits does the EPDM rubber lining provide?
A: EPDM rubber lining acts as an insulator, safeguarding cables against induction and vibration damage, while offering resistance to UV rays and harsh weather conditionsideal for outdoor deployments.
Q: What process is involved in maintaining the Cleats Trifoil Clamp?
A: Routine inspections for physical damage and tightness of the mounting hardware ensure long-term reliability. The corrosion-resistant materials and robust design minimize maintenance needs in harsh environments.
