Rubber ring [r] & compression nut [cn}
Fitting sequences :
-
Screw item gb into equipment [secure with item n if plain hole entry]
-
Pass item cn item w and item r over cable prior to commencing to strip over sheath.
-
Remove the outer sheath to the required length
-
The item w2 should be then passed over the cable and splayed out the armour wire one by one and then cut the armour wire. The w over inner sheath of cable should be inserted according to the size of washer so that bend armours are secured between the two metal washer.
-
The cable should be pushed through gb and engage the item cn with item gb and tighten up. At the time of the performance of this operation, the grooved rubber ring with contact in vertical direction, grips the sheath of the cable.

FAQs of Single Compression Cable Glands:
Q: How are Single Compression Cable Glands installed onto cables?
A: These cable glands are installed through a simple mechanical tightening process. Cables are inserted into the gland, and the gland is fixed onto a panel or equipment using the threaded, screw-on design. No special tools or additional sealing compounds are required for standard installation.
Q: What types of cables are compatible with these glands?
A: Single Compression Cable Glands are designed specifically for SWA (Steel Wire Armoured) and armoured cables with recommended outer diameters from 12 mm to 50 mm. They support cable entry sizes between 16 mm and 63 mm, ensuring compatibility with common industrial cables.
Q: Where can these cable glands be used?
A: These glands are suitable for both indoor and outdoor use, offering reliable protection in various environments. Their high corrosion resistance and flame retardant features make them ideal for industrial, commercial, and outdoor electrical installations.
Q: What are the material and finishing options available?
A: The cable glands are made from high-quality brass (CW617N / IS 319), with a nickel-plated surface for increased corrosion resistance. They are available in a golden or silver (nickel finish) color and can be supplied with a brass or steel locknut as per customer request.
Q: What are the main benefits of using Single Compression Cable Glands?
A: Key benefits include high durability, strong mechanical strength, strong corrosion resistance due to nickel plating, simple installation, and compliance with international standards (BS 6121 / IS 12943). This makes them a reliable choice for secure cable connections in challenging environments.
Q: When should single compression type glands be selected over other types?
A: These glands are ideal when working with armoured cables in low to medium pressure electrical systems, where a secure, single-seal termination is required and a balance between ease of installation and environmental protection is needed.
